I met Kimberly last year in Hopeful Hearts, the infertility support group at our church. At the time, (I think it may have been the month of May, or early summer), she and her husband were still hurting from their failed IVF procedure that they had done just a few months before then. Not only did their IVF not create a pregnancy, but they had no embryos left to freeze. At the time, they thought they would not be able to do another IVF procedure because of the great cost. After some research, their IVF doctor agreed to match his pricing with our IVF doctor, (this was before we actually did our IVF, but we were looking in to it), who is much cheaper than many Dallas doctors. Kimberly also applied to a program that pays for your IVF medication which saves thousands of dollars, and they were accepted in to the program! Everything lined up for their August IVF last year and not only did they have embryos left to freeze after their procedure, but she got pregnant, with TWINS!
She was due May 15.
Well, her body held out as long as it could. She ended up on bed rest around 20 weeks of pregnancy, then 3 weeks ago, at 23 weeks, 5 days gestation, her water broke, and she gave birth to her twins. This is very, very early. She said they have been on such an emotional rollercoaster as her children have come so close to not making it so many times. Her son and daughter will be in the hospital (NICU) until at least their due date in May.
But the #1 fact remains that they are here and stable, and that is truly a MIRACLE at such an early, early age!!

Please keep these tiny, precious babies in your prayers. They have a long road ahead to grow and get big and strong. But, we know they are already fighters and we have faith they will grow to be happy, healthy children!
Something else major to pray for this family, Dad was laid off last week. He has not had stable work for some time, and this of course is a stressful issue during this difficult time. Kimberly still has her job (she returns on March 4th - that will be a hard day for her!), which is a good stable job, with insurance coverage, but in order to provide for these babies, Prateek needs to find a job soon.
But as Kimberly told me, all the debt in the world does not matter when your children are fighting for their lives.
Praise the Lord that they are here and stable, but please pray for this sweet family!
